There are many roads to becoming a herbalist.
Many ways to be a herbalist
And many definitions of what a herbalist is.
This little path that we will wander together for a while is an invitation to take time to get to know some plants, meeting them through your own skin and heart and mind.
And find what being a herbalist means to you.
Learning by heart.
Just from being in presence and connection with plants, we begin to form relationships of mutual adoration, laying a grounded foundation for healing collaboration, understanding and learning things you may never read in a book.
It is a way to becoming your own kind of herbalist because the relationship you form with each plant will be different to every other person's relationship with that same plant.
You will be guided in plant communication, harvesting and processing practices, medicine making and using your senses to understand the medicine of plants. We will spend a lot of time on the ground, working mainly with just one plant (hawthorn) and you will intimately come to know how hawthorn’s medicine moves in you.
Woven through the many practical elements and practices of the course is an essential stillness; a way of listening to and trusting yourself and the earthly creatures around us; knowing your feet are on your path and trusting them (and your heart) to take the next step.
